Goodluck Jonathan Global Campaign Team disappointed over Choice of Atiku as Consensus Candidate

The emergence of the former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to fly the northern flag during the coming primary election of PDP has been carpeted by the Goodluck Jonathan ( http://www.goodluckjonathanfor2011.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4&Itemid=5 ) Global Campaign Group, a United Kingdom based Organisation with satellite offices across the globe.

The group Chairman Mr Peter Eledan who frowned at this political arrangement opined that it was capable of causing political disunity in the country, noting that the so called northern elders have acted at variance to the principle of democracy where the people should be allowed to choose who governs them.

He pointed out that regionalising the political and democratic development in the country because of greed and power would not augur well for the development of the country's nascent democracy.

Mr Eledan said he was visibly disappointed in the person of a former Vice President who can resort to scoring cheap political points by plying for votes through the use of regional sensibilities.

He said that the tenet of internal democracy ought to have been allowed to work out who becomes the flag bearer of the party at the primary, saying the attempt of the Northern Elders was capable of causing anarchy in the party.

The Chairman pointed out further that for once after the nation has moved away from choosing its representatives based on north and south dichotomy, Atiku and his cronies have decided to return the nation into that dark era.

He called on well meaning Nigerians to note and to make sure that they put their votes at the right place during the party's primary and even at the general election next year.
