Turkish Bank Offers Help with Konut Kredisi for Residents Settled Abroad

The Mediterranean climate of Turkey has always been a lure for people all over the world looking to invest in sunshine country. Turkey allows foreign nationals from reciprocating countries to buy property in Turkey. A number of Turkish banks have gone out of their way to simplify the process of Konut Kredisi.
"Residents of reciprocating countries or countries that allow Turkish nationals to buy property in their country can buy property including homes and land in Turkey with the least stress involved. All that the foreign national has to do is to step into any bank and get a list of reciprocating countries. Non-Turkish citizens looking to buy property can do so after permission from the military as the Land Registry office or TAPU often asks for permission from the highest military command in the area of purchase, before it could transfer the property in your name. This is a standard operating procedure and done to ensure that you've not purchased property in an area that's demarcated for military, strategic or security purposes," says the spokesperson for Yapi Kredi, Turkey's first privately owned bank that has a nationwide presence.
Along with the application form, applicants need to submit the deed of ownership, photocopy of passport or residence permit, tax declaration of the previous year (from the country where the applicant resides), last quarterly pay roll signed by the employer, bank statements for the past 6 months, reference letter of the employee, an official letter certifying personal assets, credit registration bureau record, and copy of an invoice that proves the address of the applicant.
"Once the application is delivered, we ask applicants to transfer the appraisal fee to the account of our bank to facilitate the survey of the property. The proposal for loan is then provided to the applicant after a positive review of the property. This has to be signed within 3 months, before which you will need to seek permission from the Ministry of Defense, get the nature defense insurance, house insurance, and the life insurance," adds the spokesperson.
The Konut Kredisi can be repaid by opening an account in the bank, with a tax number, and a copy of the passport. Some banks help applicants with the process of getting a tax number.
