Desert Car Care takes pride in announcing that they sponsored the 'Run For Broxton' event that was conducted on 12th of this month. The event was organized with a prime motive of raising funds to support Broxton Taylor to face his terrible physical condition and to donate to the Batten Disease Support and Research Foundation. Desert Car Care, being a local Gilbert auto repair shop, has always supported the local community. They had supported the first annual 5k and one mile run in order to help the 2-year old fight his genetic disease.
Batten disease, which is always considered to be fatal, affects people of all ages especially children. Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinoses (NCI), the name by which the disease is otherwise called, is inherited through genes and shows the symptoms of blindness, deterioration of body movement skills and sudden breakdown of organs with the affected. And most probably, patients diagnosed with this deadly disease go bedridden in a short span of time. Also the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke states that 2 to 4 out of 100,000 newborns are more susceptible to develop Batten disease. Understanding the need of support for Broxton, Desert Car Care has been sponsoring the cause.
