There has been a recent surge in the number of TV Shows! Too many Television Channels and Networks are vying up for Satellite and primetime space. Getting a space in the primetime on a top Television Channel is equal to buying an Elephant. Reality TV shows have been one of the best modes of entertainment these days. Too many people are willing to participate in reality TV shows as they make you famous overnight!
But then the criticism also works against the shows which say the fame derived through participating in Reality TV Shows is short lived. Of course, the fame that is achieved through Reality TV Shows is short lived but they can be more of an effective way in getting media attention as though you have been a movie star for years. The film Slumdog Millionaire also depicts a Chaiwala (one who supplies Tea) turning a celebrity by participating in a TV show.
There have been even greater criticisms on the harsh comments the judges pass on to the participants about their performances. These criticisms are given in order to increase the rating of the program. Program producers try to increase their audience by airing promos that contain these harsh comments. The accusation is that the producers earn money by making the participants suffer and endure the comments.
This is said to cause serious psychological imbalances and will result in higher inhibitions of the participants. The judgment may depend upon finding the right talent that can endure these comments through his strength but it is not necessary to make the participants weaker by delivering these sorts of comments. All of these make for quality home entertainment.
The comment does provoke the attention of the viewers and they are immediately tempted to watch these programs. In weekly programs, people wait till the same day of the next week to catch up with these programs. There are programs where participants can participate and dance their best to win the title, utilize their ability to sing, write, make short films, and do all sorts of everyday activities on a Reality TV show.
The content of the shows are specifically written to suit different realistic situations. They are of high reality and they can be incidents and events that happen in real life per se. There are a lot of criticisms on Reality TV shows, but there are a lot of viewers that these shows attract towards them!
