In an increasingly competitive employment market, many women and men are resorting to cosmetic surgery to look their best. But with limited vacation days and a high interest in discretion, it's no surprise that patients want to minimize recovery and downtime.
With internet search rates for plastic surgery preparation and recovery closing in on 90 million per month, it's clear that patients want to take a proactive approach to improving their recovery time.
So, what are they seeking and finding from all these internet searches?
The most popular searches involve the use of natural homeopathic remedies like Arnica montana for bruising. Other popular searches include the use of bromelain for swelling and nutrients like vitamin C for healing. But, with so much information available on the web, identifying which products work best is a challenge for even the savviest patients.

Dr. Rahm, who is a board-certified anesthesiologist says, "Patients often don't realize that a number of popular supplements can negatively affect a surgical procedure, or even cause their surgery to be canceled."
He continues, "While some supplements may be great for your health long-term they can actually worsen bruising and bleeding or interfere with pharmaceuticals during surgery." This video helps bring awareness to this issue for patients.
