San Diego, CA, United States (pr4links.com) 27/08/2011
Children’s Physicians Medical Group (CPMG) of San Diego is proud to announce their sponsorship of the Aztec “Tickets for Kids” program. This program provides free tickets to all Aztec home football games to organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of San Diego, YMCA San Diego, and Big Brother/Big Sister of San Diego. Since 2004, the program has distributed almost 18,000 football tickets per season to underprivileged children in the San Diego area. Tickets are mainly distributed through the San Diego County Office of Education to children in eighth grade and below who may not have been able to afford tickets otherwise. This year, thanks to the contributions of CPMG, 100 children from low income families will be able to attend a full season of Aztec home games for free.

As a multi-platform sponsor of SDSU’s Aztec athletics program, CPMG is also giving away 50 Aztec Kids Club Memberships. Each membership includes: a Zuma Aztec kids t-shirt, an ice cream party with Zuma, a birthday card signed by Zuma, access to the Aztec Kids Club website, benefits and discounts from sponsors, opportunities to meet Aztec athletes, an official Aztec Kids Club Membership lanyard which allows free admission to all Volleyball and men’s and women’s soccer home games, and free vouchers redeemable for tickets to select football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and softball home games.

Parents can enter their children for the chance to win a free membership in the Aztec Kids Club by sending an email to CPMGSanDiego@RCHSD.org with “Aztec Kids Club Membership Giveaway Contest” in the subject line. Each email is an official entry in the contest and must include the name of the child to receive the membership with a contact number for the parent in the event their child is selected. For more chances to win, parents who “like” cpmgsandiego on Facebook and post “Go Aztecs” on the CPMG wall will have another chance to win an Aztec Kids Club membership for their child.

Membership in the club is open to fans of the SDSU Aztecs in the eighth grade and younger and is valid from June 2011 to July 2012. This year, football season will begin on September 3rd, so parents are encouraged to enter their children in the contest early if they want to see the first home game of the season. Winners will be announced twice per week.

By sponsoring Tickets for Kids, CPMG hopes to encourage San Diego area children and teens to live healthy and active lives by exposing them to the fun of organized sports. Local athletes from various backgrounds that children can see and follow on a regular basis can serve as positive role models in the lives of many children. With the opportunity to meet SDSU athletes in person, Aztec Kids Club members will actually have the chance to learn about their favorite players and talk with them about the opportunities of college athletics. Statistically, children who participate in extra-curricular activities like youth athletics are more likely to go to college and less likely to get in legal trouble than children who don’t.
