"Through the power of social networking and a small army of loyal Facebook fans, CPMG continues to spread the word about important health issues affecting children all over the world. "

When Children’s Physicians Medical Group (CPMG) wanted to get the word out about important health care information affecting children, they knew that social networking would be their answer.

Now, over 800 Facebook followers later, CPMG has no trouble keeping parents, guardians, and child care professionals up to date on just about every major issue affecting the health of children today.

In order to reach this level of virtual popularity, CPMG contracted with San Diego based social network consulting firm Techno Power Marketing to design a custom social networking campaign that utilizes highly targeted marketing efforts to increase CPMG’s overall popularity on the web.

While a certain level of growth in fans was expected, no one foresaw a growth rate of over 800 Facebook users in only two short months, which averages out to about 26 new fans every day. One of the benefits of becoming a fan of CPMG on Facebook is the instant alerts made each time CPMG uploads a new video, article, or link to their page. This way, parents who are interested in the free medical information that CPMG distributes only have to check the page when they are sure that it has something that interests them.

One reason for CPMG’s social networking success is the fact that the organization updates their social networks on a regular basis, with new links, articles, videos and information to keep fans coming back. Any informational videos, articles, or links posted to the web by CPMG are written by or reviewed by licensed medical professionals so parents can rest assured that the information being shared is legitimate and accurate.

On CPMG’s YouTube channel, uploaded videos are free to watch and include clips of CPMG doctors being interviewed on San Diego based television news programs. Videos range in topics and are normally only a few minutes long, making them easy to watch throughout the day. The videos posted on the YouTube channel are the same as those posted on CPMG’s Facebook page, but parents don’t have to be members of YouTube to watch those videos.

CPMG is proud of the fact that their popularity on the web has grown organically at such a fast rate. In what could best be described as a web based grass roots effort, and with a little help from Techno Power Marketing, CPMG is steadily reaching more and more parents and guardians every day. Even though news has spread about what CPMG has to offer social network users, the organization still needs the help of every adult with an Internet connection to help CPMG continue to grow. It is the goal of CPMG to keep as many kids healthy and fit as possible.
