April 15, 2011 - A group of scientists made a recent discovery that could make Metal music enthusiasts want to review everything they knew about the origins of this genre. However, the place of the discovery is a tad unconventional. It seems that the Amazonian Rainforest may hold the key to unlocking the answers to how the Metal Rock songs have been born.
The explorers from Ecuador have come across an Amazonian tribe who goes by the name of ‘Metaaal’. The history of the Metaaals seems to go back several thousand years, as the scientists have discovered cave drawings made by the members of this hidden tribe which have been proved to be of at least 2000 years ago with the help of the Carbon dating method.
The symbols found on the walls of the caves seem to form the lyrics to a song. The researchers have called for the services of expert translators in order to decipher the symbols. Some of them were loosely translated into the following lyrics:
“When the fires are lit
And the noise goes crash
It’s time to let loose the tribe
For a metaaal mentaaal bash”
The next step that scientists have in mind is to have the Amazonian tribe perform the full version of the song, in the hope that a bigger portion of it would be translated and more links between the Metaaals and Metal music will be found. Furthermore, an album with local songs performed by the Metaaals is said to be released as soon as possible for all those who yearn to find out more about the Amazonian roots of their favorite rock genre. If all the steps go as the researchers and explorers hope to, this could be one of the most important discoveries done in both the sociological and musical fields.
