Cadets at the Army and Navy Academy faced one of the most grueling evaluations any young man will experience while enrolled at the college preparatory institution on December 7th, 2010; the Cadet Federal Inspection (CFI). Once known as the Annual Formal Inspection, or AFI, this extensive evaluation is carried out by the United States Army Cadet Command annually, and encompasses all phases of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, also referred to as the JROTC.

This process does not only evaluate the Army and Navy Academy’s JROTC program as a whole, but also seeks to hone out which of the three levels of qualification the units deserve to identify with; the Merit Unit (MU), the Honor Unit (HU), or the Honor Unit with Distinction (HUD).

Carrying on with over thirty years of performance tradition, the Army and Navy Academy ( http://www.armyandnavyacademy.org ) again received an outstanding score of 99.4%, which earned ANA to be qualification of Honor Unit with Distinction, or HUD, yet again.

Cadets that contributed to this top performance will have the added bonus of a possible nomination to a major academic military institution, as Senior Army Instructor Major Mike Basista is bestowed the duty of nominating between three and five candidates before the June 4 commencement ceremony in 2011. This ceremony will officially mark the 100th Commencement Ceremony of the Army and Navy Academy ( http://www.armyandnavyacademy.org ).

"Our Cadets once again rose to the challenge and excelled in all areas of the inspection. We simply could not have hoped nor expected more," said President of the Army and Navy Academy, BG Steve Bliss, "we are very proud of the way they represented themselves and the Academy on this important occasion.”
